Jamey Carroll had two hits Monday night in his fourth game on an injury rehab assignment at Triple-A Columbus. The infielder could return to the Cleveland Indians later this week.

Carroll has been on the disabled list since April 6 with a broken bone in his left hand after getting hit by a pitch.

The veteran's presence has been missed in Cleveland, where the Indians' offense has been sluggish through the season's first five weeks. Carroll's ability to both get on base or move runners along by hitting to the right side of the infield are two aspects that have been lacking in the slumping Tribe lineup.
